Description:
Food Studies Project presents guest speaker
The Food Studies Project welcomes Eva Hershaw, photojournalist and graduate student in journalism and Latin American studies, for a discussion on trade liberalization (free trade) and labor movements in Peru, using the example of asparagus production. Refreshments served.

Did you know that Peru is one of the largest asparagus exporters in the world? What are the environmental, social and political implications of this phenomenon? Jobs have been created around this industry, but should that be the bottom line? Don't miss this fascinating talk.
