Description:This mini-symposium on the music of Iannis Xenakis features papers by two renowned experts on the Greek composer and his works. Nouritza Matossian presents "Xenakis Unbound," and Benoit Gibson presents "Theory and Practice in the Music of Xenakis." Matossian is author of the first English-language biography of Xenakis. Gibson is the author of "The Instrumental Music of Iannis Xenakis: Theory, Practice, Self-Borrowing." This mini-symposium is part of the Perspective: Xenakis Festival taking place in Austin on the weekend of May 4-5.
