Description:Tom Palaima, the Robert M. Armstrong centennial professor of classics and director of the Program in Aegean Scripts and Prehistory, presents a lecture on Robert Graves. A well-trained classicist, Graves wrote many poems, essays, historical novels and studies of mythology, including his famous "White Goddess." He was always ambivalent about his "war poetry" and even made successful efforts to suppress it.
