Other Students, Faculty, and Staff:
Please visit the new UT Events Calendar to submit an event. Instructions on how to submit an event to the new UT Events Calendar can be found on the University Communications website.

Events may still be submitted automatically to the new UT Events Calendar through a standards-compliant RSS or iCal feed. Please consult the UT Events Calendar Documentation for more information.

Current recipients of the Know Events email newsletter will continue to receive events listings once the transition has been made.

Description:Join the UT World Music Ensembles for World Music Night, featuring student ensembles from the Department of Ethnomusicology: 8 p.m., Bereket Middle Eastern Ensemble; 9:15 p.m., UT Mariachi Paredes de Tejastitlan; 10:30 p.m., Conjunto; 11:45 p.m., Hispanic Caribbean Ensemble.

Bereket Middle Eastern Ensemble performs Turkish, Kurdish, Roman ("Gypsy"), Persian and Arabic music with UT students and musicians from the Austin community. Mariachi Paredes de Tejastitlan plays classic and contemporary mariachi favorites. The Conjunto ensemble features
Tex-mex music and is directed by Grammy award-winning accordionist Joel Guzman and internationally renowned bajo sexto player JJ Barrera. The Hispanic Caribbean Ensemble plays a double set of acoustic and dance music from across the Hispanic Caribbean - salsa, merengue, cumbia and more.
