Description:The disABILITY Advocate Program addresses disability-related issues. Faculty, staff and students are all welcome. Upon completion of the program, trainees receive a disABILITY Advocate placard that can be displayed to indicate that you are an advocate for people with disabilities.

The program provides general information about the prevalence of disability and types of disabilities, awareness about language use relating to disabilities, understanding of the minority/cultural perspective of disability, recognizing stereotypes and assumptions about people with disabilities and discussion of common barriers to people with disabilities and how you can be a part of these reducing barriers and improving access.
