| Description: | The theme of the 26th annual Heman Sweatt Symposium on Civil Rights is "Awareness to Action: Men of Color in Higher Education and the Crisis Facing America." This program features a dialogue on educational challenges facing African American men, followed by a panel discussion. A 5 p.m. reception precedes the event.
The dialogue will be a discussion between Dr. James Moore, inaugural director of the Todd Anthony Bell Resource Center on the African American Male at Ohio State University, and Dr. Leonard Moore, associate vice president, Academic Diversity Initiatives in the UT Division of Diversity and Community Engagement and professor of history. The community panel will be moderated by Dr. Richard Reddick, Department of Educational Administration, and featuring Mr. Todd Suddeth, program director at the Bell National Resource Center, Ohio State University. |
