| Description: | Lorena Alvarado, finalist for a CMAS Carlos E. Castañeda Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mexican American Studies for the 2013-2014 academic year, presents "Transnational Laments and the Queering of the Ranchera."
Alvarado holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Culture and Performance from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is research scholar at the Center for the Study of Women, UCLA, and a lecturer in Chicano-Latino studies at the University of California, Irvine. |
