Description:
South Asia Seminar hosts screening and discussion
Attend a screening of "Bad Girl with a Heart of Gold" (dir. Anuj Vaidya, 2004/2005, 52 min.) followed by the talk "Bombay Cinema's Dancing Queen" by cinema studies scholar Ranjani Mazumdar.

A filmmaker and performance artist, Anuj Vaidya is the co-director of 3rd I films, which curates the San Francisco International South Asian Film Festival.

Ranjani Mazumdar's research focuses on urban cultures, popular cinema, gender and the cinematic city. She is the author of Bombay Cinema, An Archive of the City published by the University of Minnesota Press (2007).
