Description:The Food Studies Project presents a talk by Stephen Bartlett titled "Cooling the Planet, Feeding the Hungry."

With our world awash in low-nutrient calories produced with machines and chemicals, "food sovereignty" has become the rallying call and principle of the movement to reclaim and decolonize the food system. From East Austin to East Timor, from South Central L.A. to southern Mexico, people on the land are in struggle.

Bartlett, who learned small-scale farming in the Dominican Republic, works collectively in and around Louisville, KY, as an educator and organizer with Agricultural Missions www.agriculturalmissions.org.
