|Description:||The Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, a unit of the Center for Social Work Research at the School of Social Work, is proud to partner with Allies Against Slavery in bringing Free Austin 2012 to the community. Free Austin is a two-week annual campaign designed to ignite a citywide movement to end human trafficking.

Among the several Free Austin events planned during the two-week campaign is a Human Trafficking Policy Briefing on Wednesday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. in the School of Social Work UTOPIA Theatre, hosted by the Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
Free and open to the public, this event will focus on policy elements of human trafficking. The program will include a panel discussion with Texas House Rep. Senfronia Thompson (District 141), Chief of Staff Chara McMichael for Rep. Randy Weber (District 29), and Austin Police Department Detective Deek Moore who will present brief updates on previous legislative actions and upcoming plans for the Texas Legislature and U.S. Congress.
There will be time for questions from the audience.
