The Art History Lecture Series presents a talk by author Claudia Calirman titled "Brazilian Art Under Dictatorship: Antonio Manuel, Artur Barrio and Cildo Meireles," based on her book of the same title. Calirman explores Brazilian visual arts during the critical period between 1968 and 1975, the most repressive years of the military dictatorship that ruled Brazil for two decades.
Calirman is assistant professor of art history, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York.
