Participants ages 35-80 are sought for a three-month study on the effectiveness of dairy and fruit intake in treatment of high blood pressure. Payment is $200 for completing the study.<br /><br />Participants will be asked to add nonfat dairy products to their normal diet for four weeks and replace dairy products with fruit products for an additional four weeks. All food products provided free of charge.<br /><br />To be eligible for participation, you must be a nonsmoker and not currently taking any blood pressure medications. Benefits of participation include blood pressure monitoring, blood screening for cholesterol and diabetes, dietary consultation with a registered dietitian and measurements of cardiovascular function.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Tuesday, May 1, All-day event, Austin Dell Pediatric Research Institute.  The National Children&#39;s Study seeks female participants ages 18-49. Participants must be the mother of a child under age six, and either African American, Mexican American or other Hispanic, non-Hispanic white or Chinese American. To learn more, contact Kyla.james@austin.utexas.edu or 512-232-8627.<br /><br />The National Children&#39;s Study (NCS) is a nationwide study whose overall goal is to better understand children&#39;s health and to improve the health and well-being of children. This study looks at the growth of children and seeks to learn how to better collect information about the diets, height, weight, leg and arm measurements of infants and young children.<br /><br />The study consists of one questionnaire and a series of measurements collected on your child. These are conducted with standard medical/field equipment such as stadiometers/infantometers, weight scales, rulers, tape measures, paper grid and calipers. The questionnaire and measurements take approximately 30 minutes each to complete. Participants receive up to $30 for participating, as well as a gift of small value for the child.]]></description>

Participants ages 35-80 are sought for a three-month study on the effectiveness of dairy and fruit intake in treatment of high blood pressure. Contact  dairyintakestudy@gmail.com, or call 512-471-8594, for information. Payment is $200 for completing the study.<br /><br />Participants will be asked to add nonfat dairy products to their normal diet for four weeks and replace dairy products with fruit products for an additional four weeks. All food products provided free of charge.<br /><br />To be eligible for participation, you must be a nonsmoker and not currently taking any blood pressure medications. Benefits of participation include blood pressure monitoring, blood screening for cholesterol and diabetes, dietary consultation with a registered dietitian and measurements of cardiovascular function.]]></description>
