On April 24, an eight-story commercial building in the district of Savar, Bangladesh, collapsed, killing over 300 people, injuring at least 1,000 more and trapping many beneath the rubble. The Bengali Students Association teams with SpaandanB, a local charitable organization that aids Bangladesh, to raise funds for victims of this disaster by selling samosas on West Mall. During the American Civil War Abraham Lincoln stated that his paramount object was to save the Union, leading many since to question his reputation as &#34;the Great Emancipator.&#34; Richard Carwardine, author of the political biography &#34;Lincoln: A Life of Purpose and Power,&#34; asserts that emancipation and the nation&#39;s unity were indivisible in Lincoln&#39;s mind.
 
Carwardine was the Rhodes professor of American History at Oxford University and now serves as president of Corpus Christi College, Oxford.]]></description>
