DESCRIPTION:The vice president for research is soliciting nominations for the 2012 Professor Robert W. Hamilton Book Author Awards, sponsored by the University Co-Operative Society. The deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 1.

\nFirst prize is $10,000, with four additional prizes of $3,000 each. These awards will be made to faculty or staff members who, in the preceding calendar year (Jan. 1 - Dec. 31, 2011), have published the best book-length publications as determined by a multidisciplinary committee of scholars appointed by the vice president for research of The University of Texas at Austin.

\nPublished works including scholarly monographs, creative works (e.g., novels and anthologies of poetry), exhibition catalogs, textbooks and edited collections published during the 2011 calendar year may be nominated. Current UT Austin faculty (tenured, tenure track, senior lecturers and lecturers), Code 1000 and staff are eligible to compete. UT students are not eligible for this program. Books must be published (publication or copyright date) between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2011.
