Description:Dr. Richard B. Silverman, professor of chemistry at Northwestern University, presents a talk titled "Drug Discovery: Ingenuity or Serendipity?" Silverman is the inventor of Lyrica, a drug used to treat epilepsy, neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia. He holds 45 patents, has written four books and has published close to 300 research articles.
