Description:The IROM Department and the Division of Statistics & Scientific Computation present a talk by Chong Wang, Carnegie Mellon University, titled "New Probabilistic Models for Document Recommendation and Exploration."

The talk describes a new document recommender system that is both predictive and interpretable. It enjoys the advantages of probabilistic topic models and matrix factorization, but outperforms each of them in term of predictive performance.
