The TACC Seminar Series presents Kyungjoo Kim, Ph.D., delivering a talk titled "Development of a Parallel Sparse Direct Solver for Problems Arising from hp-FEM."
The developed solver is based on the multifrontal method, which converts the sparse matrix factorization into dense subproblems hierarchically related in an assembly tree. Our solver exploits two-level task parallelism: tree-level parallelism and matrix-level
parallelism. We discuss the performance of the solver for the particular problems arising from the high order FE method.
