Description:John Ivy, Ph.D., presents a talk titled "The Effect of Nutrient Timing on Exercise Recovery and Training Adaptation" as part of the ongoing seminar series in the Department of Nutritional Sciences. Ivy is a professor and chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at The University of Texas at Austin.

Ivy's research program examines the timing of nutrient consumption in order to maximize the beneficial physiological effects of physical training. The author of the recent book "The Performance Zone," Ivy is the author of books and scholarly articles on the intersection of nutrient intake and athletic performance.
