The legacy of Paul Peter Hatgil

If you’ve been to the university’s Visitor Center in Walter Webb Hall, if you’ve looked up at the top of the McCombs School of Business building or if you’ve visited the Bass Concert Hall, you’ve probably seen the art of Professor Emeritus Paul Hatgil.

During his tenure of 34 years at The University of Texas at Austin, Hatgil instructed more than 2,000 students in the art of ceramics, sculpture and two- and three-dimensional design. Many of his works adorn public and private buildings and are included in national and international collections.

I miss teaching. I do, however, continue in the arts by painting when time and energy permits.
