Mr. Dilg serves as Managing Partner of Vinson & Elkins, L.L.P., where his practice focuses on domestic and international business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and financings.  He is well versed in all aspects of the domestic and international energy business, including oil and gas and electric power generation.  Mr. Dilg is listed in Chambers Global The World’s Leading Lawyers 2002-2008 in both the “Energy and Natural Resources” and “Corporate/M&A” fields; The Best Lawyers in America in corporate and international trade and finance law; and Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Energy and Resource Lawyers in oil, gas, and electricity law. 

Mr. Dilg serves as a Director for the Business Committee for the Arts, Inc. and Houston Arts Alliance and is a members of the American Bar Association.

He received his B.A. in 1973 in economics from Southern Methodist University and his J.D. with high honors in 1976 from The University of Texas School of Law, where he served as Note and Comment Editor of Texas Law Review and was on the Chancellors list.  He was admitted to practice in 1976.

Joe and his wife, Susie, reside in Houston.
