Paul W. Hobby
Term: 2007 — 2010

Mr. Hobby is currently Chairman and CEO of Alpheus Communications, a joint venture between Genesis Park (a regional private equity firm) and El Paso Corporation. From 2002 to 2006, he was Chairman of the Board for CapRock Services, Inc., the largest satellite communications provider to the global energy business, another Genesis Park company. He has also served as Board Chairman for Columbine JDS Systems, Inc., the world's largest provider of media software. Mr. Hobby has served on numerous other private and publicly-traded company boards and in January 2009 he was elected as Deputy Chairman for the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
He has been active in civic affairs, with an emphasis on not-for-profit healthcare and public higher education.
A graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Texas School of Law. He has been active at both of his alma maters, where he has been honored as a University of Texas Outstanding Young Alumnus, served as an adjunct professor and performed in various other capacities at both institutions. Mr. Hobby is often asked to speak or author on leadership and business education topics, and has served as an invited lecturer at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Rice University Jones School of Business.
