Kara Belew

Kara Belew is currently an advisor to Governor Perry in the Governor's Office of Budget, Planning and Policy. Prior to working for the Governor, Kara completed a two year legal clerkship with the Texas Supreme Court under the Honorable Justice Phil Johnson and the Honorable Justice Micheal Schneider.

As a student at the University of Texas School of Law, Kara was active in the Board of Advocates serving as the Interscholastic Chairperson and competing in interscholastic tournaments including the prestigious ATLA Interscholastic Mock Trial tournament where she was a state semi-finalist. Upon graduation, Kara was selected for the Order of the Barristers. As a trial advocacy specialist, Kara helps coach interscholastic mock trial teams and assists with mock trial skills classes.
