Awards and Scholarships

Each year, the Board of Advocates honors students who excel in trial and appellate advocacy with a number of awards and scholarships. A committee of faculty and students selects the recipients, and the winners are announced at the annual BOA banquet in April. Students interested in being considered for the following awards should come by the BOA office in March and fill out an application.

The Niemann Cup, established by Stanley P. & Claudie P. Wilson in 1984, is awarded to the best advocate in the graduating class.

The National Order of Barristers' Awards are presented to the top ten advocates in the graduating class.

The Judge Quentin Keith Endowed Presidential Scholarship of $2000 is awarded to a second-year BOA member for excellency in trial and appellate advocacy.

The Stanley P. & Claudie P. Wilson Endowed Presidential Scholarship of $2000 is awarded to a second-year BOA member for excellency in trial and appellate advocacy.

The Scott, Douglass & McConnico Litigation Award of $2000 is awarded to to a second-year BOA member who has a B+ (3.3) grade point average or higher, and who has been either (1) a member of an interscholastic mock trial team, OR (2) a semi-finalist in an intramural mock trial.
