The Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice

Information for Students

Educating students in the field of human rights is a key priority of the Center. To that end, the Center approaches the study and teaching of human rights from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The country's first Transnational Worker Rights Clinic and the popular Immigration Law Clinic offer opportunities for students to pair theory and practice in a service-learning context. These clinical opportunities give students the chance to apply international legal standards to local cases involving labor and immigration disputes. Students also build skills as human rights advocates and activists by participating in internship opportunities at international tribunals and organizations, as well as governmental agencies and nongovernmental organizations involved in cutting-edge human rights work. The Rapoport Foundation and the Cain Foundation provide funding to support student scholarships and fellowships for work in the human rights field.
