Lecture on the value of public service, William O. Whitehurst, Jr. (former president of the State Bar of Texas)

Community Service/Pro Bono Education:

Fall Public Service Initiative for First Year Students (orientation speaker, special classes on access to justice issues, and service projects), Fall ‘04
Community Tax Center Project, partnered with the Community Tax Center to provide student volunteers to help low income working families file tax returns, Spring ‘05

Curriculum:

Judicial Internships Information Session: Why and How?, co-sponsored with the Career Services Office, Jan.‘05
Legislative Internship Program, inaugural program provided academic credit to 26 students interning with the legislature and enrolled in a weekly course, Spring ‘05
Ongoing judicial and non-profit/government internship courses
