The Master of Laws Program
LL.M. Degree Concentrations
The Law School offers five different concentrations of study within the LL.M. program. The general program in "U.S. Law for Foreign Lawyers" provides a basic understanding of the U.S. legal system to students with a foreign law degree, who may focus on a particular area of law or take courses on varied topics. The other concentrations require completion of specific courses and provide the opportunity for a student to focus his or her study and obtain a certificate of specialization. The concentrations are:
- Business
- Global Energy, International Arbitration, and Environmental Law
- Intellectual Property
- Latin America and International Law
- U.S. Law for Foreign Lawyers (general program)
The Law School will also consider, on an individual basis, a proposal to earn an ad hoc certificate of specialization in another area (such as health or human rights).
