Tracey A. Kennedy is a partner in the Labor and Employment Practice Group in Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton’s Los Angeles office. Ms. Kennedy is responsible for all aspects of employment litigation matters on behalf of employers and management. An experienced trial attorney in state and federal court, she has tried to verdict business and employment matters including age, race, sex and disability discrimination, sexual and racial harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Ms. Kennedy also provides preventive counseling to clients concerning personnel and employment matters. Ms. Kennedy has lectured state wide on personnel practices, employment discrimination, retaliation harassment, and wrongful termination.
Ms. Kennedy has been an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She was the Chair and Co-Chair of the Barristers Sports Project Committee, a member of the Barristers Executive Committee, and the Co-Chair of the Barristers South Central Legal Services Committee. Ms. Kennedy is a former associate editor of the California Labor and Employment Law Quarterly, the official publication of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar. Ms. Kennedy is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, and a former member of the American Trial Lawyers Association.
Ms. Kennedy is licensed in California and Texas. She is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central, Northern, and Eastern Districts of California, the Ninth Circuit, and the District of Nebraska.
During the summer of 1989, Ms. Kennedy worked at the Riverside County District Attorneys Office where she prosecuted one criminal case and was responsible for a variety of other criminal matters. She received her B.A. from The University of Texas in 1987, and her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1990.
