ike McConnell, both as an attorney in private practice and as a member of the judiciary, has gained a wide variety of experience in business reorganizations. In December 1983, Mike was appointed as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Texas with primary responsibilities in the Fort Worth, Abilene, San Angelo, and Wichita Falls Divisions of the District.
Since returning to private practice, Mike has represented secured and unsecured creditors, trustees, committees, and debtors in some of the most significant bankruptcy cases in this area. He has served as a Chapter 11 Trustee and Chapter 11 Examiner in several complex Chapter 11 cases, and has also been involved in a variety of business, litigation, and commercial law engagements.
Mr. McConnell received his undergraduate degree in history from Loyola University of the South, and his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. He is a member of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges; National Foundation of American Inns of Court (Regional Trustee); and Judicial Conference of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals (Lawyer Member). His teaching experience includes Advanced Business Bankruptcy Course State Bar of Texas (Faculty); Annual Bankruptcy Conference of University of Texas School at Law (Faculty); and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking (Faculty, 2001). He has been recognized by Who's Who in America (1994-2006); Best Lawyers in America (1989-2006); and is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.
