William H. Shibley

Mr. William H. Shibley is a 1972 alumnus of The University of Texas School of Law.  While at the Law School, Mr. Shibley was Managing Editor of the American Journal of Criminal Law; Chairman of the Election Committee, the Special Activities Committee, and the Criminal Law Association; and a cast member of Assault and Flattery. He received his B.S. in Chemistry in 1969 from Stanford University.

Mr. Shibley was admitted to practice in California in 1973.  He received his license to practice law in the United States District Court for the Central, Southern and Northern Districts of California; the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; and Idaho.  In 1972, Mr. Shibley worked as a Law Clerk for the Travis County Legal Aid and Defender Society in Austin.  In 1972, he worked for George E. Shibley in Long Beach, California as a clerk until 1973, when he became an attorney for the same firm.  In 1977, Mr. Shibley went to work for the Law Offices of Harold Q. Longenecker in Los Angeles until 1979.  In 1979, Mr. Shibley opened his own practice, Law Offices of William H. Shibley, in Long Beach.  Mr. Shibley’s trial practice focuses on plaintiff’s personal injury, civil litigation, criminal defense, entertainment law and intellectual property litigation.

Mr. Shibley had been listed in Who’s Who in the West. He was a member of the Long Beach Bar Association’s Board of Governors, President of the Arab American Lawyers of Los Angeles, He is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Bar Association as well as the California Public Defenders Association.  He has served on the Los Angeles Superior Court Arbitration and Mediation Panels, and as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

He and his wife, Patricia Parris, reside with their son, William Patrick, in Long Beach, California.
