Danny Gurwitz was born in McAllen, Texas on March 7, 1968, and admitted to the Texas bar in 1993. He received his B.A. from the University of Texas in 1990, and his J.D. in 1993. He is a partner in Atlas & Hall, L.L.P. He is a member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel; the Past-President of the Hidalgo-Starr Texas-Exes; Trustee and Past Chairman of the Museum of South Texas History; and a Board Member and Chairman of the City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Mr. Gurwitz has been engaged principally in litigating all types of lawsuits, including: commercial disputes, personal injury suits (including those involving products liability claims, toxic torts and others), construction defects, insurance coverage disputes, patent infringement, and employer/employee disputes (including wrongful termination and enforcement of restrictive covenants).
Danny was recently recognized as a Texas Rising Star (lawyers 40 & under) by Law and Politics/Texas Monthly magazines. Except for his seven years in Austin, Danny has always lived in McAllen. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two daughters – Emily (5) and Katy (3).
He is licensed with the State Bar of Texas; U.S. District Court (Southern & Western Districts of Texas; Eastern District of Wisconsin); and the U.S. Court of Appeals (5th Circuit).
