Brian McLaughlin spent many years at The University of Texas, where he received a B.A. in the Plan II Honors Program in 1983 and a J.D. in 1986. While in college, Mr. McLaughlin was involved in the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, the Silver Spur Honorary Service Organization, and the Commemorative Texas Longhorn Project. He was also a member of the Friar Society and a Cactus Goodfellow. He continues to give back to The University of Texas in many ways. Mr. McLaughlin is past Chairman of the UT Liberal Arts Foundation Advisory Council and a member of the Scholarship Committee of the Ex-Students' Association.
Mr. McLaughlin is a Partner with Kerr, Ward, McLaughlin & Miller, L.L.P. in Midland. He conducts a general commercial practice with emphasis on oil and gas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
Mr. McLaughlin is involved in many civic organizations in Midland to compliment his legal career. He is Chairman of The Nita Stewart Haley Memorial Library and J. Evetts Haley History Center and recently completed his tenure as a trustee of the Trinity School of Midland. Some of his other business interests include acting as Director of the Texas State Bank in San Angelo, Vice President of the Double M Ranch Company, and Director of the Diamond M Foundation.
Mr. McLaughlin resides in Midland with his wife Cynthia and their three children Claire, Blake, and Annie.
