Travis Sales is a litigation partner at Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston, Texas. He joined the firm in 1987 and became partner in 1995.Mr. Sales specializes in complex products liability and commercial litigation.
Mr. Sales graduated from the University of Texas (B.B.A. 1984 with Highest Honors and J.D. 1987 with High Honors). At the University of Texas, Mr. Sales was President of the Silver Spurs Honorary Service Organization and received the Outstanding Student Award. At UT Law School, Mr. Sales was a member of the Texas Law Review and Order of the Coif. He was Grand Chancellor in 1986.
Mr. Sales served as the 2008-2009 Houston Bar Association President. He previously served the Houston Bar Association as President-Elect (2007-2008), Treasurer (2006-2007), Second Vice President (2005-2006), Secretary (2004-2005) and Director (2001-2003). Mr. Sales is a Director (2009-2011) of The State Bar of Texas. He received the State Bar Presidents’ Award in 2009, and he received the HBA President’s Award in 1992 and 2002. Mr. Sales was Chair of the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program (2007-2008) and President of the Houston Lawyer Referral Service (2004-2005). Mr. Sales is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Sales served on the Editorial Board of the Texas Bar Journal (2004-2006). Mr. Sales has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer. He is a Life Fellow of the Texas and Houston Bar Foundations. Mr. Sales is a long-time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Houston. Mr. Sales has spoken at numerous CLE and Bar programs and events.
