Student Representative: 2013 —2014
Thomas Hillebrand was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up just outside of the city. He attended the University of Michigan where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Classical Civilizations and Political Science. After graduation he moved to Texas and is now a 3L at The University of Texas School of Law.
While at UT Law, Tom has been elected President of the Student Bar Association. Last year as the Vice President he planned the Law School's Casino Night and Ex Parte as well as interviewed candidates for the new Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
Also last year, Tom was a Mentor for the Bradford Society, and worked with a group of 26 1L's to help them transition into their lives as law students.
Tom has exhibited a strong interest in the energy field and is the Managing Editor of the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law, the first such student-run journal in the country. The Journal focuses on publishing two issues per year covering different topics across the full breadth of the energy field as well as connecting UT Law students to practitioners around Texas and the country.
Tom has worked in Supreme Court of Texas as an intern during his 2L year as well as interned for the Travis County Criminal Court at Law #6.
