Laurie Johansen currently serves on the Board of Directors as vice chairman of Caris Life Sciences, a leading bioscience company focused on fulfilling the promise of personalized medicine.   Ms. Johansen also currently serves as a member of the Boards of Directors of the North Texas Region of the American Red Cross and the Young Men’s Service League, Highland Park chapter. 
From 2004 through 2012, Ms. Johansen founded and served as a general partner of Caris, Ltd., a private equity investment partnership focused on the healthcare sector.   Caris, Ltd. became majority owner of Caris Life Sciences in 2005.   Prior to Caris, Ltd., Ms. Johansen served for nine years as a member of the executive management team of AdvancePCS where she served as senior vice president and general counsel.  She helped guide the firm from a small, privately owned company into a publicly traded Fortune 500 corporation that became the largest provider of pharmacy benefit management services in the nation.  In 2004, AdvancePCS consummated a $7.5 billion merger with CaremarkRx, returning 31 times its initial public offering value.

Before joining AdvancePCS, Ms. Johansen worked as an attorney in the corporate and securities group of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, public equity and debt financing, and corporate matters.

Ms. Johansen earned a BBA degree and JD from The University of Texas.
