Eric L. Schiele

Eric was born in Columbus, Ohio. He received a B.A. summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1996 and a J.D. with Highest Honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 2000. At Texas, he was an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review, a Chancellor and a member of Order of the Coif.

Following his graduation from UT Law, Eric joined Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York City. He was elected a partner in 2007.

Eric is a corporate partner at Cravath. His practice focuses on a range of transactions for corporate clients in various industries and for investment banks, including high yield debt, equity, PIPE’s and other capital markets financings, as well as public and private mergers and acquisitions, including leveraged buyouts, contested acquisitions and spin and split transactions. Eric is a frequent lecturer on various M&A and securities law topics, and became a faculty member with the Practicing Law Institute on capital markets topics in 2010. Eric is a member of the American and New York Bar Associations.

Eric and his wife Lissa (an Austin native) live in Tribeca in New York City with their toddler twins, Gabrielle and Jackson.
