John A. Adkins is a partner in the Real Estate Practice Unit of Strasburger & Price, LLP. As a member of the firm's Financial Services Industry Team, John primarily represents financial institutions in commercial lending transactions and workouts/restructures of credit facilities. His legal practice also includes general corporate transactions for a variety of industries in Texas, as well as the representation of individuals in real estate and other investments.

John is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, receiving his B.A. in Plan II Honors in 1973 and his J.D. in 1977. While in law school, he served as Managing Editor of the Texas Law Review. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, and the Houston Commercial Finance Lawyers Forum.

John's legal career also includes in-house experience as Senior Vice President/General Counsel of one of Texas' largest federal savings banks, and Associate General Counsel/Corporate Secretary of a publicly traded diversified financial services company in Houston. He was appointed by Texas Governor Bill Clements and served as chairman of the Texas Hospital Equipment Financing Agency. 

John serves on Strasburger's Diversity and Community Relations Committee. He was president of the Texas Exes (alumni association of The University of Texas at Austin) in 2005-'06, and continues his involvement with UT alumni activities, including the Law School, the Forty Acres Scholarship Steering Committee, the School of Social Work, and the School of Undergraduate Studies.
