Amanda L. Bush represents clients in a variety of matters including complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, and media and First Amendment litigation. Ms. Bush also regularly handles appeals in state and federal appellate courts. Ms. Bush's media practice includes representing national and local media clients in defending libel, slander, invasion of privacy, misappropriation of likeness, business disparagement, and infliction of emotional distress claims at both the trial court and appellate court levels. She also regularly defends subpoenas in both criminal and civil courts and advises clients regarding prior restraints, access, newsgathering, pursuing public records, and pre-publication review. Ms. Bush's intellectual property cases include defending patent infringement, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and trade secret misappropriation claims. She also has a wide range of business litigation experience handling contractual and fiduciary duty disputes, real estate disputes, and insurance defense matters.

Ms. Bush graduated from J.D.  in 2003 from The University of Texas School of Law, and served as Administrative Editor of Texas Law Review.  She earned her B.A. summa cum laude, from The University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Ms. Bush is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Travis County Bar Association, and the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court. Ms. Bush also serves as a vice-chair on the Training & Development Committee of the American Bar Association's Forum on Communications Law.

Ms. Bush serves on the Board of Directors of the Van Cliburn Foundation, and she chairs the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy's Celebration of Reading in Dallas.  In addition, she serves on the Advance Team of The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.  Ms. Bush serves on the Executive and Steering Committees of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center's Dallas/Fort Worth "A Conversation With a Living Legend," and she chaired the Living Legend luncheon in 2012.  Ms. Bush also serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Fort Worth Symphony.  Ms. Bush was named a "Rising Star" (2007-2012) by Thomson Reuters. She has also been named a "Top Attorney" by Fort Worth, Texas magazine for four consecutive years.  In 2012, Ms. Bush was named to the Fort Worth Business Press's prestigious "40 Under 40" list.

Ms. Bush is the co-author of "A Tale of Seditious Libel in the Twenty-First Century," 25 ABA Communications Lawyer 12 (Spring 2007) and "Damned if You Do. Damned if You Don't: Protecting the Fifth Amendment Rights of Civil Litigants," Texas State Bar 17th Annual Suing and Defending Governmental Entities Course. Ms. Bush is also the author of "The History of Daubert and its Effect on Toxic Tort Class Action Certification," 22 Rev. Litig. 181 (2003). In January 2008, Ms. Bush was featured in a Fort Worth Business Press cover story highlighting her media law career.  Ms. Bush often speaks regarding the current trends in media and intellectual property litigation.
