    The UT Law Immigration Clinic and Pro Bono Program are hosting a clinic to assist pro se petitioners in applying for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

    Learn about practicing law for a union legal department, a workers’ rights center, a law firm representing unions and workers, and a government agency regulating the workplace. Find out how to get a job promoting workplace justice. In addition, learn about the Peggy Browning Fund Fellowship Program, which offers 10-week funded summer fellowships for first and second-year law students, provides stipends to law students who dedicate their summer to advancing the cause of workers’ rights, and encourages law students to consider labor law as a viable career choice.     Tuesday Power Lunch Series

    Come have lunch with two Andrews Kurth real-estate lawyers: Center for Women in Law Founding Member Kathleen Wu and fifth-year attorney Kathleen Tarbox.

    Kathleen Wu will share stories from her 30+ years’ experience in real estate, finance, and business transactions. She will offer students invaluable insight from her vantage point as both Managing Partner and Hiring Partner of the Dallas office as well as member of the firm’s Compensation, Finance, and Policy Committees.

    Kathleen Tarbox, who has come to work closely with Kathleen Wu since her graduation from the University of Virginia School of Law in ’09, will share experiences from her practice which focuses on commercial real estate and general business transactions.

    The Center for Women in Law, through the Tuesday Power Lunch Series, aims to highlight prominent women lawyers from a wide range of career paths in the legal profession.     Domestic Violence Clinic - Training

    Student volunteers will prepare parole packets for victims of domestic violence incarcerated for killing their batterers. They will use information from interviews with inmates conducted by students in the Domestic Violence Clinic to gather information to support the parole packet.
