    Restorative Justice Lecture

Texas is prime for the use of evidence-based restorative justice programs to reduce racial disproportionality in school discipline, prioritize victim needs, and obtain better outcomes for low-level offenders, including students, who otherwise get caught up in costly judicial and administrative proceedings.

Join Justice Janine Geske as she speaks about recently passed legislation in Colorado and her moving experiences in creating opportunities for increased victim satisfaction, greater public safety, and substantial cost-savings to traditional correctional sanctions.

Justice Janine Geske is a mediator in conflict resolution and internationally renowned speaker about the modern day development of restorative justice for formal and informal justice processes. She serves as a distinguished professor of law at Marquette University Law School and director of the law school’s Restorative Justice Initiative.

Presented by the Institute for Restorative Justice and Restorative Dialogue. This event is co-sponsored by the School of Social Work and The University of Texas School of Law.
