Study Abroad Information Session open to all students With Professors Lauren Fielder and Michael Sturley

Paul Wright, founder of the Human Rights Defense Center and editor of Prison Legal News, and his colleagues at Human Rights Defense Center will speak on first amendment rights of publishers and prisoners. They have litigated a wide variety of censorship and public records cases against prison systems around the country – most recently against Comal county jail and Upshur county jail in Texas.

The library is throwing open its doors so that UT law students can find out more about our services and tour the facility. You’ll get to see the hidden collections and chat with different librarians about all of the resources at your disposal. There will be treats and drawings for prizes at different stations. The Health Law and Bioethics Society is having its first meeting of the year with Leslie Montalvo, '15, and Michael Hurta, '15, who will be there to talk about their recent summer clerkship experience at Gjerset & Lorenz, a local firm dedicated to the representation of healthcare providers. All students interested in health law and bioethics are welcome. Snacks will be served.

ELS presents former members of UT Law's Environmental Law Society and Texas Environmental Law Journal. The event will focus on environmental public-interest and government jobs around Austin. Former members will talk about their experiences and how they got to where they are now.
