During both days of PSCF, which will be held January 29-30, 2015, public interest and government employers will conduct on-campus interviews for paid and unpaid summer and permanent positions in the Career Services Interview Suite.

During the first day of Public Service Career Fair (PSCF), representatives from public interest organizations, as well as federal, state and local government agencies will host informational tables, which provide an excellent opportunity for students to network and find out about current volunteer opportunities, summer internships and postgraduate positions.

The Professional Development Institute: Prepared For Practice will be taught by industry experts and practicing attorneys, covering facets of new attorney professionalism most sought after by legal employers. It is promoted widely to employers, many of whom contributed to the content of this program. This program is open to all UT Law J.D. students. Registration opens on November 18 at 9 p.m. Space is limited!

Panelists will discuss their careers as criminal defense lawyers who work in small law firms or solo practice and who represent indigent clients, and offer advice about how students can locate training and mentorship resources to start a career in public defense outside of a public defender office.

Roberta Kass, an experienced legal recruiter with Seltzer Fontaine Beckwith, shares her insights about the California market and offers tips for landing a job in California. Roberta will also meet individually with students before and after the program to discuss their specific questions. Sign up in the Career Services Office.
