    Judicial Clerkships: Why Valuable

    This program is highly recommended for 2Ls who are considering applying for judicial clerkships as rising 3Ls. Get tips on selecting courts and judges, asking for letters of recommendation, and putting together a strong application. Panelists include Judge Andrew Hanen, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas; Elizabeth Bellows, ’10, former law clerk for Judge Hanen; and Anthony Arguijo, ’11, former law clerk to Judge Edward Prado with the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit as well as Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson, Supreme Court of Texas.     Come learn about opportunities to practice law in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps program, including the internship program. LT Lauren E.     D. Marie Wagner is senior counsel international at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, one of the world’s largest publicly traded oil and gas exploration and production companies. She previously practiced at Baker & McKenzie and El Paso Energy. Marie will offer insight on transitioning to in-house positions and the differences between working at a firm and a general counsel’s office.
