Employment Statistics
A UT law degree opens doors at the most venerable firms in the nation, is valued in the chambers of the highest courts in the land, and is an asset to many of the nation's best and brightest public interest lawyers and academics. The UT Law Career Services Office is committed to supporting the many paths students can take with a law degree throughout Texas and the U.S., as well as around the world.
The map and statistics below are based on the Classes of 2007-10 combined (unless otherwise noted).

- Over the past four years, 30 percent or more of students have secured postgraduate employment outside of Texas. UT Law graduates have chosen employment in 38 states, as well as the District of Columbia, with the most prevalent out-of-state opportunities in New York, California, Washington, DC, and Illinois.
- In addition, UT Law graduates have landed jobs overseas in Afghanistan, Argentina, Costa Rica, Germany, Israel, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, South Africa, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.

- UT Law is one of the top law schools to place graduates on the U.S. Supreme Court. UT Law alumni have recently clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justices Anthony Kennedy (2009 term) and Clarence Thomas (2010 term), and will be clerking for Justice Samuel Alito (2011 term).
- According to UT Law Alumni Association, more than 300 UT Law alumni currently sit on the bench.
Government Agencies
- UT Law graduates have been awarded Bristow Fellowships and Presidential Management Fellowships.
- Each year UT Law hosts Public Service Career Fair, which is the largest public service job fair for law students in Texas.
- UT School of Law is a founding member of PSLawNet, a valuable resource for finding job opportunities in the public service sector.
