The Center has trained more than 3,500 individuals from government and the private sector in the use of ADR theory and techniques. Effective training for ADR practitioners, public decision-makers and the public at large gives participants an understanding of dispute resolution techniques and their applicability to a variety of situations. In addition to public courses, the Center also provides customized trainings for agencies and nonprofits.

Understanding and Managing Conflict (Zoom)
We experience conflict every day, whether at work, home or interacting with the public. This class will provide an opportunity to reflect on and better understand your own personal conflict style, as well as how to recognize the conflict styles of others. Effectively managing your conflict dynamics, and understanding the responses of others, can help maintain productive relationships, shorten the length of the conflict, and reduce stress associated with the conflict. 40-Hour Basic Mediation – via Zoom
This class is being offered online, via Zoom. You must be on-camera the full 40 hours. This intensive five-day program is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to mediate a variety of everyday disputes. This course emphasizes the importance of practical experience in becoming an effective mediator. During frequent role-plays, each participant will mediate a variety of disputes with expert feedback. This course is designed to satisfy the 40 classroom hours of training required to mediate court-referred disputes as indicated in the Texas Alternative Dispute Resolution Act § 154.052, Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code Ann. This course also meets the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association and Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable's requirements. *Please note, this is not the Advanced Family Mediation course. Cancellation Policy: Written cancellations must be received 15 business days prior to the beginning of the program. There will be a $50 administration fee for registrations cancelled before the cutoff date. Cancellations after the cutoff dated will receive no refunds; however, substitutions may be designated with notification to our office. The Center further reserves the right to cancel a program if sufficient enrollment is not met. In the event of the cancellation of a program, the Center will refund registrations fees pertaining to that program. Learn more
