Center for Women in Law Founding Member Marcy Greer received the Frank J. Scurlock Award, in recognition of her exceptional service to the public and the legal profession, at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting on June 24, 2011. The State Bar Legal Services to the Poor in Civil Matters Committee presented the award at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio.
The award recognized Marcy’s work as a partner in the Austin office of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., where she recruited 60 volunteer attorneys, who donated 587 pro bono hours to helping the state’s foster and at-risk youth. Additionally, as immediate past chair of the State Bar Appellate Section, she helped implement the Section’s Pro Bono Committee, which has been embraced by more than 120 volunteers. The Center for Women in Law congratulates Marcy on this honor.
