Center for Women in Law Founding Member Lisa Pennington was honored with the Premier Woman in Law Award by the Association of Women Attorneys in Houston at the AWA’s inaugural luncheon on Tuesday, March 27. “For years, Lisa Pennington has exemplified a personal commitment to advance the careers of women lawyers at Baker Hostetler and in the broader legal community,” said Laura Gibson, President of AWA. ”Just this year, Lisa chaired the AWA Committee that brought the Center’s Leadership Boot Camp to Houston area law students. The Premier Women in Law Luncheon honored the twelve women who serve as Managing Partners in Am Law 100 firms in Houston, including Center for Women in Law Founding Member Christine LaFollette, Partner-in-Charge of the Houston Office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, who was one of three finalists for the award. More than 370 individuals attended the luncheon which featured a General Counsel Panel moderated by Center for Women in Law Founding Member, Linda Addison, Partner-in-Charge of the New York office of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. Panel Members included Center for Women in Law Founding Member, Catherine Lamboley, General Counsel, Shell Oil Company (Ret.); Sylvia J. Kerrigan, Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Marathon Oil Corporation; and Jessica L. Quinn, Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, MD Anderson.
