Founding Member Janiece Longoria Appointed Chair of Houston Port Commission

Center for Women in Law Founding Member Janiece Longoria was appointed chair of the Houston Port Commission by Harris County Commissioners Court and the Houston City Council. The Port of Houston is the busiest port in the United States in terms of foreign tonnage and the second busiest in the United States in terms of overall tonnage. Janiece is the Houston Port Commission’s first female and first minority chair.

Janiece Longoria is a partner at Ogden, Gibson, Broocks, Longoria, & Hall LLP. She has extensive experience in commercial litigation, particularly in the areas of securities litigation and securities arbitration. In 2008, Janiece was the recipient of the Sandra Day O’Connor Board Excellence Award, which honors women lawyers who have served as independent directors of public companies.
