Nina Cortell to receive the 2013 Chief Justice Jack Pope Professionalism Award

Center for Women in Law Founder Nina Cortell will be awarded the 2013 Chief Justice Jack Pope Professionalism Award by The Texas Center for Legal Ethics. Named after former Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Jack Pope, the award is presented annually to one judge and one attorney who personify the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the field of law. The Pope Awards will be presented at the annual Texas Supreme Court Historical Society Dinner on June 14 in Austin.

Nina Cortell is Co-Chair of Haynes and Boones’ appellate section in Dallas. For more than 35 years, she has represented corporations, public entities, and individuals in appeals that have put her at the forefront of Texas appellate practice. Best Lawyers named Cortell its 2013 Dallas Bet-the-Company Litigation Lawyer of the Year, and Chambers USA Guide ranked Cortell as one of the top appellate lawyers in Texas (2010). She has also been named one of the top ten lawyers in Texas by Texas Super Lawyers for the last three years.

The Center for Women in Law congratulates Nina Cortell on this well-deserved honor.
