On Friday, June 21, Lisa Tatum was sworn in as President of the State Bar of Texas. Lisa is the first African-American woman to be elected president of the State Bar of Texas, which is the 5th largest organization of lawyers in the country. Her term runs from June 2013 to June 2014.
Lisa Tatum is president and managing partner of the Texas-based firm LM Tatum, PLLC, which focuses primarily on the areas of Business and Corporate Law, Education, Employment and Public Finance as well as Simple Contingency Planning. In addition to serving her clients and helping them meet their needs, she has served in leadership positions in the America Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, San Antonio Chapter and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. Named a Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2007, Lisa was a featured speaker at the Center for Women in Law’s 2013 Women’s Power Summit on Law and Leadership.
