Michael Esposito currently serves as Senior Consultant to The Energy Center at University of Texas School, Vice-President of Bluemoon Software, and co-chair of the Berkeley-Stanford Advanced Patent Law Institute, an annual Silicon Valley gathering of practitioners, industry and academics. He previously served for ten years as Assistant Dean of Continuing Education at the Law School, during which time he substantially grew the scope, national reach and reputation of the program, through a combination of new program offerings and a complete modernization of the department’s back-office infrastructure and public facing web presence, see www.utcle.org. During this time he also developed and grew strategic alliances with variety of other educational institutions and industry groups, including McCombs School of Business, which resulted in new cross-disciplinary programs in Energy, International Energy, IP, M&A and Business Valuations. Mr. Esposito has a broad interest in energy, technology, marketing, behavioral economics and finance, and developing programs that facilitate learning and discussion between practitioners, government officials, industry and academics. He previously served for five years as Attorney-Advisor at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in Washington DC, working primarily on tax and economic policy issues with the Council of Economic Advisors and the Treasury’s Office of Tax Policy. He is also co-founder of a successful Austin software company, and provides strategic and funding advice to start-up and early-stage companies. He holds a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Rochester.
